Selena Gomez's on-again, off-again relationship with Justin Bieber may be pushing her to seek out advice from Taylor Swift, a singer who is very familiar with heartache. The two singers were spotted together at an L.A. restaurant on Saturday night, a day after Gomez reportedly had a huge fight with Justin Bieber.
Gomez and Swift both recently emerged from relationships with younger men. Gomez is two years older than Bieber. Swift was four years older than her last boyfriend Conor Kennedy.
After a roller-coaster weekend of Gomez meeting Bieber at the Four Seasons hotel in Beverly Hills on Thursday but walking out of a dinner with him on Friday, the 20-year-old singer has much to talk about with Swift, who broke up with Kennedy in October.
Swift's innocent demeanor has at times made her seem like a victim. From songs like "Mean" in which she chastises bullies of the world to music videos like "You Belong with Me" where she portrays a band geek whose crush is into the popular mean girl, she seems to always be the one who's been wronged.
Yet some fans believe Swift isn't quite as innocent as others think. Often lashing out in breakup songs, Swift has made exes Nick Jonas and Jake Gyllenhaal the inspiration for some not-so-nice songs . At the Country Music Awards at the end of October, Swift sang lyrics to her new song "Begin Again."
I've been spending the last eight months
Thinking all love ever does
Is break and burn and end
But on a Wednesday in a cafe
I watched it begin again
We wonder if that's how Selena Gomez is feeling right now.
