Carmen Electra released her new song 'I Like It Loud' on iTunes Tuesday. The former 'Playboy' centerfold released the track, her first in 19 years, as rumors swirl around her on-or-off relationship with 'X Factor' star and mega-producer Simon Cowell. The two have been spotted on dates around Los Angeles but neither the stars nor their publicists have confirmed the romance.
Electra told omg! that despite her successes in modeling and acting the last few years she "had this passion to get back into music ... I need a variety in my life and my career. It's never boring. It's been challenging at times, but it's also been such an amazing ride. Deep down inside, throughout everything, I just still have this passion."
She also told the gossip site that Cowell doesn't even know about the song. At least, she didn't tell him.
"I have not played it for him," she told omg! a week before "I Like It Loud" was released on November 13. "I don't think he even knows about it."
She admits to hanging out with Cowell but insisted the relationship was purely platonic and that their friendship began in earnest when they worked together on 'Britain's Got Talent.'
"We worked together on 'Britain's Got Talent' and we just clicked. I just think he's so funny and so charming, and our personalities really get along well," Electra told omg!. "We had great chemistry on camera, and now that he's in town doing 'X Factor,' we've had more time to hang out. I just adore him. I think he's a sweetheart!"
Cowell is certainly her type, if past relationships are any indication. Electra seems to have a soft spot for babyfaced bad boys and her list of ex-lovers includes musicians Tommy Lee and Dave Navarro as well as NBA superstar Dennis Rodman. But maybe the older, more mature Electra is focusing on the things that really matter.
Like Cowell's industry connections and his piles upon piles of cash.
Here's a sample of her new track, see if you think there's any "I'm dating Simon Cowell" undertones ...
