Cheryl Burke wants to appear on "The Bachelorette".
RadarOnline reported this week that the "Dancing with the Stars" professional was in talks to be the latest love interest on ABC's other major reality franchise.
"Cheryl has been in talks with producers to be the next 'Bachelorette,' and they think she'd be a really good choice," a source close to the show told the website. "She has a huge fan base, she's great on television and they definitely think people would want to watch her find true love on TV."
According to Radar, the interest between the two sides is mutual.
"Cheryl would be a fun person to have as the Bachelorette, and she was excited when they approached her to be on the show," the source continued.
However, E! Online spoke to another source who denies "The Bachelorette" is interested in Burke.
"Never gonna happen! Never!' the source said of Burke's chances of appearing on the show. Apparently the "Bachelorette" producers would prefer a non-celebrity in the title role.
In fact, the site reports that Burke is the one begging to be on the show, but the network is not as interested. Indeed, Cheryl Burke expressed interest in appearing on the "Bachelorette" back in June.
"My dating record hasn't been great the past couple of years so if I have a chance to go on ["The Bachelorette"] I will," Burke told People. "I'm getting old, you know, so it's something of interest to me."
Burke would not be the first DWTS alum to try her hand at love on national television. Fellow pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy appeared on the Ukrainian version of "The Bachelor," ultimately choosing a woman named Sasha, according to WetPaint. However, Maks gave Sasha a promise ring rather than an actual proposal, and he is now reportedly dating fellow DWTS pro Peta Murgatroyd.
