Gwyneth Paltrow is about to reach a major milestone, she turns the big 4-0 on Sept. 27. But, don't expect the Oscar-winner to plunge into a midlife crisis as she enters the new decade because she admitted to InStyle  magazine that the wisdom of the passing times has strengthened her and in turn made her feel 'pretty grounded.'

"I'm taking stock and really looking at everything. I'm trying to accept myself," Paltrow said of hitting the milestone. "There's a Rumi poem, 'The Guest House,' about welcoming in all aspects of yourself: The dark, the light, the jealous, the happy. Let them all in. But know that you're not defined by any single one of them. I've become much more serious after experiencing all the ups and downs of life - heartbreak, the death of people I love...These days I feel pretty grounded."

Paltrow reveals she and husband Chris Martin are quite similar, perhaps too similar. "We laugh a lot, and at the same jokes," said Paltrow. "We like the same music and we like to do the same things."

"Our artistic temperaments together [is the hardest part]," Paltrow continued. "Artists are sensitive. There are ups and downs, mood-wise. Musicians need a certain gravitas and focus in order to write. The temperament that goes with someone who is creative can be challenging."

The couple -- who married in 2003, have two children together, Apple, 8, Moses, 6 --  but Paltrow wouldn't mind adding one more child to her brood, what is the likelihood of another biblical-inspired moniker?

"My brain says, 'Oh, I think I'm done, the kids are so big now, and I don't want to go back to changing diapers,' " she said. "But a part of me would love to have another. Of course, I'm old now!"
