Miley Cyrus Talks Wedding, New Music And Short Hair Cut At 2012 MTV VMA’s

Miley Cyrus may have walked down the red carpet of the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles Thursday night, but the 19-year-old singer/actress revealed that she has no immediate plans to walk down an aisle. 

Cyrus announced her engagement to 22-year-old "Hunger Games" actor Liam Hemsworth on June 6. The young singer/actress explained to People.com that "life is too short not to be with the person you want to be with."

At this years MTV VMA's, the 19-year-old spoke to Us Weekly about marrying Hemsworth.

"I'm really excited to obviously get married, but I kind of already feel married," she revealed to reporters. "I know we are forever."

The engagement wasn't about landing the 18-karat Neil Lane ring that was hand-cut in the late 1800's, or about planning the wedding or getting her hands on that important piece of paper. Instead, Cyrus revealed that it's about the promise that the pair made to each other, and is currently just focusing on her work.

"I'll have a single out this year," Cyrus teased of new music that will feature Mac Miller and Pharrell Williams. "I'm really proud of the album, It's my favorite thing I've done probably ever. It's all really different.

Despite telling People.com that she wanted a long engagement, rumors since the proposal have had media outlets speculating when the two, who starred together in the 2009 film "The Last Song," would be walking down the aisle. Many, including PerezHilton.com, believed that the love birds were getting married one weekend in late June when Cyrus tweeted something suspicious. 

"Super Lazy Sunday! Can't wait for next week! It'll be filled with happiness =]" she tweeted on June 24. Although many thought the week filled with happiness would include a wedding, her fiance's rep released in a statement that her client was only back in L.A. the following week to receive an award from Australians in Film.

Besides fighting off wedding date rumors and working on her new album, Cyrus also took a few minutes to talk about her new short platinum blonde hair cut that she showed off at the VMA's.

"It's so easy..It's really me and it's really good," she explained.
