Lady Gaga Debuts New Ribcage Tattoo, Explain Why She Keeps Them On One Side Of Her Body

Mother monster has gotten some new ink.

On September 2, Lady Gaga proudly displayed a picture of herself with her new anchor tattoo on the left side of her ribcage via her little monsters website.

 "Thanks Hank and Amsterdam Tattoo Museum for my New Ink," she wrote. "We miss you already. See you at the ball!"

Is it us or does the sartorial oddball seem to be missing her usual pizzazz in the above picture?  For the first time, we can honestly say, Gaga looks relatively, err, normal. But, never cookie-cutter.

Gaga is still a daddy's girl at heart and has admitted to keeping her tattoos on one side of her body for his sake."It was actually per my father's request," she said back in March 2011 about her art work. "He asked that I remain, on one side, slightly normal."

Collectively, the 26-year-old pop star has 10 tattoos. She has a unicorn on her left thigh, a peace sign on her left inner wrist and inscribed the word ARTPOP on her left forearm - an homage to her forthcoming album.

Gaga has never been a conformist, which is perhaps why she dropped out of the prestigious New York University to pursue her music career. " I thought I could teach myself about art better than the school could," she told Elle magazine.

"I write about what I know" she continued, " sex, pornography, art, fame obsession, drugs, and alcohol,"

However, the pop star is traditional in the maternal sense. During a recent interview for Oprah Winfrey's show "Oprah's Next Chapter" she told the TV mogul she wants to have a "soccer team" of kids.

Gaga is currently dating actor Taylor Kinney of the "Vampire Diaries," but told Vanity Fair, "I have an inability to know what happiness feels like with a man, I think what it really is, is that I date creative people. And I think that's what intimidates them is not my purse, it's my mind."
