"Sex And The City" fans unite. "The Carrie Diaries" will be here in no time!
Pictures of AnnaSophia Robb, who will play a 16-year-old Carrie Bradshaw circa 1984, have just been released.
In the photograph, Robb is featured hailing a New York City cab in a fashionable polka-dot dress, and Carrie Bradshaw's signature curly mane.
Sarah Jessica parker is reportedly very supportive of Robb stepping into the iconic role she perfected. "She was just very encouraging about it all. It was really cool!" a source said.
Before sashaying in Carrie's stylish Manolo Blahniks, Robb managed to build an impressive resume. The 18-year-old starred in her debut film "Because of Winn-Dixie," in 2005, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," also the same year, "Bridge to Terebithia," in 2007, and "Soul Surfer," in 2011.
Being that she's the star of such a fashion-based show like "The Carrie Diaries," one would expect Robb to frequent designer stores like Chanel and Dior- but the actress admits to being quite restrictive with her wallet.
If you want to buy the new "trendy" item, go for knock-offs." She said during an interview with Seventeen magazine. "That's awful of me to say, but the "in" thing never lasts, so why waste money?"
However, she does admit to stepping up her fashion game when the occasion calls for it.
"When I'm at home or at school, I'm casual and comfortable. I tend to wear work out clothes and lots of sweaters." said Robb."But when I'm going out I love dresses and heels. I edge more on the bohemian side...I think."
The starlet is inspired by the understated style of fellow blond actress, Kate Bosworth." I've always loved Kate Bosworth's style." she claimed. "She is so effortlessly chic and always seems comfortable in what she is wearing."
"The Carrie Diaries" will air on the CW, January 2013.
