Where does an international heartthrob go after his world is blown to smithereens? Reese Witherspoon's house of course!
After finding out about Kristen's Stewart's infidelity, Robert Pattinson, 26, fled to the country darling's Ojai, Calif., estate to nurse his wounds.
Us Weekly plastered a series of scandalous photos of Stewart's affair with married "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders, 41, on their front page. Forcing an embarrassed and distraught Stewart to issue this public apology to Pattinson:
"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry,"
The apology was not without controversy as many wondered why the 22-year-old "Twilight" actress failed to apologize to British model Liberty Ross, Sanders' wife, with whom he has two children.
However, Sanders' apology, which was issued shortly after Stewart's, made up for her seemingly intentional omission.
I'm utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family," he said, pleading for forgiveness. "My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together."
Pattinson has requested sole custody of Bear, the dog the couple adopted together.
"She was heartbroken - they adopted Bear together and she always felt that he was their little baby," a source for RadarOnline's said. "However, Kristen won't give up Bear in a hurry . . . She wants joint custody - and it could get a little messy."
Stewart has also been M.I.A. after Pattinson kicked her out of the Los Feliz home they both shared. Could she also be crashing at a celebrity friend's home?
