Janet Jackson is determined to honor her late brother's wishes. The demure crooner believes, "...it goes against Michael's wishes of keeping his kids out of the the limelight until age 18," Us Weekly reported. Needless to say, she is apprehensive about Paris' upcoming role in the film "Lundon's Bridge and the Three Keys."
Her brother, Michael Jackson, entered the entertainment business at a very young age, and his childhood suffered in the process, a loss he publicly lamented when he was alive. "I loved them." He told ABC News regarding his children. "I love them because I didn't have a childhood. I had no childhood. I feel their pain. I feel their hurt. I can deal with it."
Janet has tried to dispense some maternal advice to Paris, explaining to her how unforgiving the entertainment industry can be.
"We've spoken about the fact that you're only a child once," Jackson told Prevention Magazine "I think there's a time for everything, and now is not the time [to act in films]. I told her I thought she should enjoy being a kid, possibly go to college - or not - but wait till she turns 18. She's a very tough, smart girl. But it's a cutthroat industry. I wouldn't want my child to do it."
But even with her Aunt's cautionary tale, young Paris is determined to make her mark in Hollywood, perhaps, more so than ever after the death of her iconic father. "When I was really little, my dad was in the movie 'Moonwalker' and I knew he could sing really well, but I didn't know he could act," Paris expressed to Ellen DeGeneres. "I saw that and I said, 'Wow, I want to be just like him.'"
