Renowned for being one of the most beautiful women in the world, Halle Berry merits another title, one less-coveted than her previous designation, Hollywood's most accident-prone starlet. The stunning beauty who was reportedly rushed to Los Angeles's Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Tuesday night after hitting her head on the set of her latest flick "The Hive" is no stranger to on-set injuries. She probably sustained as many bruises as she's had movie roles.
According to People magazine, "She fell off a horse and bruised her tailbone while filming the TV miniseries Queen in 1992; she choked on a fig during Die Another Day; she fractured a bone in her right arm filming Gothika; and a piece of equipment struck her in the head on the set of Catwoman."
Just last year, Berry was rendered crutch-bound after breaking her foot on the set of "Cloud Atlas" in Spain. As a result directors Tom Tykwer, and Larry Wachowski had to get creative, relying on camera tricks, and stunt doubles to complete the film.
In retrospect, the curvy actress should consider herself blessed as many stars haven't been as fortunate during on-set mishaps.
Actor Brandon Lee was killed on the set of the "Crow" in 1993, after a gun was fired with a real bullet still lodged in the barrel. A few decades earlier, his father, the legendary Bruce Lee, succumbed to cerebral Edema on the set of "Enter the Dragon."
We hope Berry takes extra precautions to ensure her safety on future film sets. While a bedazzled crutch is a creative way to mask a foot injury, we much prefer to see her on two feet and sporting some killer designer footwear.
