"The Hangover" actor Ed Helms is putting his principals before his stomach. Helms might crave a chicken sandwich that's only a drive-through away he's decided to boycott Chick-fil-A for their vocal position against gay marriage.
Helms tweeted about his love of fast-food poultry and his larger love for equality saying, "Chick-fil-A doesn't like gay people? So lame. Hate to think what they do to the gay chickens! Lost a loyal fan."
Chick-fil-A has never backpedaled on their opposition to marriage equality despite being challenged by celebrities and gay rights groups. Dan Cathy, the acting president of the chain, has said of their position, "We know that it might not be popular with everyone, but thank the Lord, we live in a country where we can share our values and operate on biblical principles."
Cathy and the rest of the Chick-fil-A team also live in a country where a celebrity can voice their displeasure about a company's views and reach over 300,000 followers who might be reconsidering their plans to grab a Chick-fil-A Deluxe after work.
