"Family Guy" has an impressive list of past guest stars that fit into a variety of categories . Drew Barrymore played a character in the "Family Guy" universe (Jillian), Adam West plays a fictionalized version of himself (Mayor Adam West) and Hugh Hefner simply played himself. Johnny Depp will be added to the seemingly endless roster in a fourth category of actors playing characters they've played in the past. Depp will be voicing Edward Scissorhands, the titular role he had in Tim Burton's 1990 film, in a future episode.
Disappointingly, Mr. Scissorhands won't be getting an episode long storyline, just a short send up before the action returns to the Griffins and the rest of Quahog. As fun as it would have been to see Edward hanging out at the Clam with Peter and the boys Depp fans should still be excited for his vocal cameo. The 'Dark Shadows' actor has already been in the recording booth for his spot on the show and "Family Guy" executive producer Mark Hentemann said Depp was able to get right back to his Scissorhand roots despite the twenty-two year gap between the movie and this cameo.
