Just a few days after ESPN reported she was ending their long-term relationship to join rival network, Fox, Andrews decided to address the monumental move via Twitter.
"It is official...I'm going to @FOXsports," Andrews tweeted Sunday afternoon. "An incredible opportunity for me & cannot wait to start! CFB kickoff is two months from today!"
"Going to miss my @ESPN family and the @collegegameday crew. Will always appreciate everything all of you did for me. #Respect #ThankYou," Andrews continued in a later tweet.
Starting September 1, the former ESPN sideline reporter, will be hosting a new 30-minute prime-time college football studio show for Fox. According to Fox spokesman Dan Bell, Andrews will be given "significant" duties, covering the networks NFL and MLB leagues.
Eric Shanks, Executive Producer, Co-President & COO of Fox Sports Media Group recently released a statement on Andrews' behalf.
"Opportunities to add someone of Erin Andrews' caliber don't come along often and we're thrilled to welcome her back to the FOX Sports family," he said, and concludes with, "Erin is one of the hardest-working, most-respected individuals in sports television and we expect her to have an immediate impact. In addition to having her anchor our new college football show and studio coverage, we expect her to be a big contributor to our MLB and NFL coverage as well as other major events."
Andrews doesn't only love covering sports but is a passionate fan as well. "Sports are my life. It's what I turn on when I'm doing the laundry, cleaning up or paying bills. It's all I do. It's very consuming." She told Complex Sports back in 2011.
