After nearly a decade, notable sportscaster Erin Andrews, says Goodbye to ESPN.
The news hit the circuit when fellow employers Josh Krulewitz, Mike Humes, and Mike Soltys sent identical tweets Friday afternoon:
"Erin Andrews leaving ESPN. She did great work for us & we made aggressive offer to keep her. Wish her best on her next chapter."
Before ESPN made the big announcement, Richard Deitsch, a Sports Illustrated reporter, broke the news that Fox would be making a play to nab Andrews, since her contract was set to expire at the end of June.
Andrews' departure is obviously a major loss for ESPN. The sport's giant has publicly declared their desire to continue to work with the talent in the foreseeable future. "We are in discussions with Erin," John Skipper, president of ESPN, affirmed. "Erin does a great job for us. Our preference would be that she stay."
Andrews has yet to comment on the big move, and Fox is determined to remain mum as well.
The blonde bombshell is still reeling from the infamous video that was released about three years ago. Michael David Barrett, an insurance salesman, took it upon himself to film Andrews in her hotel room in the nude. Those stolen private moments became media fodder, and some even wondered whether Andrews was behind the video's release. That was the hardest thing," She revealed to Marie Claire Magazine. " Despite what I do for a living, I am very insecure about my body. I don't have a complex, but for every woman - I don't care who you are - there's a part of your body you have issues with. It was my body, and I didn't have a choice of how many people got to see it. What people don't understand is that while I wasn't physically touched, I was violated."
