The girl known for her breakup ballads has finally found her prince charming, for now anyway. British crooner Adele is expecting her first child with boyfriend Simon Konecki, 36. He is the CEO of Drop4Drop, a charity in Brighton. She announced the happy news on her website on Friday:
"I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we're over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx."
Adele is clearly enamored with her "bearish" lad of over a year, "He's wonderful," she told Vogue. "And he's proud of me, but he don't care about what I do or what other people think. He looks after me. I don't think I would have gotten through the recovery for my surgery if it hadn't been for him."
The singer seems to have been thinking about starting a brood for some time now. "I am fucking off for four or five years. If I am constantly working, my relationships fail," she reportedly said. "So at least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy. And then I don't know what I'll do. Get married. Have some kids. Plant a nice vegetable patch."
It comes as no surprise Adele would want a family of her own, since she does come from a rather large family. She attributes her exceedingly loud voice to them. Apparently, they've helped her get a tremendous amount of vocal exercise over the years because she constantly had to raise her voice, just to be heard. Now, she's being heard by millions, perhaps her clan should be credited for her increasing success.
The songstress has publicly admitted to feeling anxious on the red carpet. Given a choice, she'd pick hanging out with her friends over attending some glitzy Hollywood event. "I hate the red carpet. I don't feel insecure, I just feel like, Oh, I don't want to do this. I literally get a stomach cramp. At the VMA's last year I felt really out of my comfort zone because there were so many superstars there. But that's been the case from day one. I never feel like, Oh, yeah, I should be here. And I was missing my best friend's hen night. So I was a bit bitter that I wasn't there, to be perfectly honest."
Will Adele keep boyfriend Simon konecki happy? Being a new mother is a hard chore, add a bourgeoning music career, and you've got a possible relationship buster.
She has publicly acknowledged her temper. " I can flip really quickly. I am not bipolar, but I go from 'Oh, my God, I love you' to 'Get the fuck out of my house!' really quickly." On the plus side, she claims to be a dutiful partner. "I will do anything for my man," she boasted. "I am a good cook. I'm funny. Always want to have sex." All things we are sure her beau will appreciate, all things any man would appreciate really. Ladies, take note!
