Season two of the FX comedy "Wilfred" returns tonight! If the first season is a little hazy for you, don't worrry we have a recap for you!
Originally an Australian series, the American version of "Wilfred" follows the wild encounters of Ryan (Elijah Wood), a former lawyer, and his neighbor Jenna's (Fiona Gubelmann) dog, Wilfred (Jason Gann).
The pilot episode was a little dark with Ryan attempting to kill himself. Jenna stops by though, and asks her neighbor if he can watch after her pooch, Wilfred. The only thing is that Ryan doesn't see Wilfred as a dog, but instead an Australian man in a dog suit. Hilarity obviously ensues as Ryan is the only human that can see Wilfred as a human. The two go on adventures together, which usually begin with Ryan and Wilfred smoking weed in his basement.
What you missed in season one:
- Jenna accidentally ate a piece of marijuana candy, and lost her job.
- Wilfred promises to break up Jenna and her boyfriend Drew (who just proposed) if Ryan helps Jenna get her job back.
- Turns out that Ryan was disbarred in the past for tampering with evidence and digging up dirt on people.
- In order to clear Jenna of her charges she must get drug tested. The only thing is that Jenna has no idea she ate the marijuana candy.
- Ryan blackmails his sister Kristen (who had an affair) to get her urine to switch with Jenna's.
- The drug test enforcer heads off before Ryan and Wilfred have a chance to switch the urine.
- In attempting to switch the urine Wilfred gets hit by the car, ending up in the hospital.
- Jenna hears back from her drug test, and while her urine is clean (since its actually Kristen's), it turns out that she is pregnant. Not knowing that Ryan switched the urine, Jenna thinks that she is pregnant and tells Ryan that she is going to marry Drew.
- Wilfred wakes up but has amnesia, and begins barking at Ryan.
- Ryan also hears from Kristen, who told him that she told her husband about the affair and that they split up. Little does she know that she is pregnant and is going to have to raise the baby alone now.
- Ryan goes home and opens up the door to his basement to find that it's only a closet, leaving viewers to think did any of this 13-episode season even happen? Did Ryan's suicide attempt at the beginning of the episode work? What just happened?!
Confused? So are we. But we are also super excited for the second season premiere of "Wilfred" which airs Thursday at 10 P.M. on FX.
