Fans of the controversial yet legendary rap group N.W.A. have been waiting years for a movie to be made and now a film is in the early stages of development.
Movie maker F. Gary Gray has begun a casting search for a film based on N.W.A. Reportedly the film will be called "Straight Outta Compton." Gray is looking to cast new actors in the roles of young Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E and MC Ren. The open casting was announced on Twitter and was open to anyone in between the ages of 18 and 25 that resemble the rappers and who can act. Anyone wishing to audition for the roles can submit a video via a GMail account.
Last year, Eazy-E's son, Eric Wright Jr., expressed interest in playing his father and there was also a rumor that the other rapper's sons would play their fathers, but so far no one has auditioned for the roles.
"I'm the perfect man for the role." Wright Jr. told TMZ. "Who better to play him in the N.W.A. days? Like father, like son, no makeup needed. I know I'm just like my dad."
