Abraham Lincoln may have been one of the greatest presidents this country has ever seen, but why would the iconic political figure have made a good vampire hunter?
"Well he looks like it," Tim Burton, producer of "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter," told ientimes.com at the New York City premiere of the film. "You see pictures of him, he's got sort of that gazing compelling complex kind of haunted quality to him. It seemed to make sense."
"Well because Lincoln was kind of the president of truth," Anthony Mackie, who stars in the film, told ientimes.com at the New York City premiere of the film. "I feel like where we are today as an American people is because of Abraham Lincoln and you know he kind of reinvented the idea of what a president was here to do. It's suiting that looking at him in his time and everything that he did to become president he was kind of a superhero, so it makes sense for him to be a superhero in present day."
And what was it like to play the iconic president/modern-day hero?
"It's an honor to be part of his legacy," Benjamin Walker told ientimes.com at the New York City premiere of the film.
It takes a lot of strength to handle the American people and he united us at a time when we really needed it," Walker continued. "He was one of the greatest presidents there was."
