'Game Of Thrones' Season 7 To Confirm Daenerys Targaryen As Azor Ahai? Melisandre Set To Meet Mother Of Dragons
The "Game of Thrones" Season 7 air date is drawing closer and it looks like fans will finally learn the identity of The Prince Who Was Promised. Or could Azor Ahai possibly be a princess? There are speculations that Daenerys Targaryen will be revealed as the true Savior of Westeros. Is it possible that Melisandre will meet the Mother of Dragons and realize that Azor Ahai is actually a woman?
The idea of The Prince Who Was Promised being a princess is nothing new. Readers have long theorized that Daenerys Targaryen is Azor Ahai since she had emerged unscathed from Khal Drogo's funeral pyre, a scene that was reenacted in the TV series. In addition to that, there are some characters who believe that the Mother of Dragons is the promised savior, something that might be confirmed in "Game of Thrones" Season 7. In fact, Melisandre's words have somehow predicted Dany as Azor Ahai in "A Song of Ice and Fire".
Melisandre has described The Prince Who Was Promised to Jon Snow in a very particular way in "A Dance with Dragons". According to the Red Woman, Azor Ahai "shall be born again amidst smoke and salt to wake dragons out of stone." This certainly sounds like Daenerys Targaryen's miraculous rise from Khal Drogo's funeral pyre where she came out with three tiny dragons hatched from their petrified eggs. There is little doubt that the priestess will finally meet the Mother of Dragons in "Game of Thrones" Season 7, but will it lead to Melisandre changing her mind about Jon being the Prince Who Was Promised?
The trailer for "Game of Thrones" Season 7 shows that the Red Priestess has found her way back to Dragonstone (via YouTube). It's no secret that Daenerys Targaryen will reach the castle and turn it into her stronghold but what could happen when she comes across Melisandre? Some believe that the Red Woman will realize she may have been wrong about the second Azor Ahai and consider the possibilities of the savior being a woman instead of Jon Snow. Nevertheless, there is still a possibility that Jon will work with the Mother of Dragons to defeat the White Walkers when "Game of Thrones" returns to HBO on July 16.
