'Steven Universe' Season 5 Delivers Fantastic Episodes; Soundtrack Collection out Now; Rebecca Sugar Recommends One Great Song for Fans!
Rebecca Sugar's "Steven Universe" season 5 premiered on May 29 bringing yet another explosive on the young hero's journey to protect the world. The show was released to critical acclaim, which is Cartoon Network's very first animated series being created by a woman alone. The show has been praised for its science-fantasy worldbuilding that attracted an overwhelming fanbase worldwide. The latest episode showed that Lars was able to obtain a power that can help Steven in returning to Earth but recent reports say that this season would be the last installment in the series.
CeleBeat reports that "Steven Universe" season 5 would be the last installment although this is yet to be confirmed. It can be recalled that the Gems fought against the Diamonds, where Steven declared that he is his mom, who tried to protect the mankind against her race with their evil plans. The fourth episode titled "Lars' Head" showcased Steven with the Off-Color Gems discovering something odd about Lars. As Den of Geek points out, it's not too convincing that Lars is obtaining powers but it's not possible as it looks like he has a magical hair portal.
Fans can recall in "Steven Universe" season 5 episode 4 that Lars slowly changed his color while he was asleep. His friends started to get interested as to what happened to him but apparently, Lars only obtained a hair portal, which is one way for Steven to return to Earth. The Crystal Gems are glad to know that the young hero was able to return to Earth even without their assistance.
Meanwhile, Fuse reports that "Steven Universe" Soundtrack: Volume 1 is the first collection of songs of the popular animated series, which was released on June 2. Asked which song that the new viewers should listen first, Rebecca Sugar recommended the song "We Are The Crystal Gems." "Even the extended theme has elements of the show we don't introduce at first," she said. "The soundtrack (and show) starts simple and progresses into more complex topics."
