Although "The Walking Dead" was criticized for its violence shown on TV, many fans are still all over it and can't even wait for the next installment. Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) are two strong characters in the series and everyone already knows the story of the Alexandrian leader. However, some of Negan's backstory is still unknown but the recent issue of Image Comics features Lucille's first victim, which is titled "Here's Negan."

Fans who are following "The Walking Dead" series know that Lucille is Negan's beloved baseball bat that brutally killed Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) and Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz). As expected, fans still mourn over their gruesome deaths until now and some of them are disappointed for killing one of the most fan-favorite characters in the show. On top of it, showrunner Scott Gimple has promised that the show will get even darker.

Gimple told Comic Book that Rick is no difference than Negan in "The Walking Dead" and even how the latter survived the zombie apocalypse is just the same as how the former cop did. He went on to say that what differs Rick from Negan is his philosophy in dealing with things. The showrunner explained that Rick still believes that his decisions are justified. As CDL suggests, both characters have changed in the new world that has made them the way they are now.

Negan could be a brutal villain in "The Walking Dead" but Lucille used to defend women who were the subjects of rape in a group that he previously bumped into. The latest issue of Image Comics revealed that the leader of the said group gave him the chance to rape the women. However, Negan disagreed. "Whatever you guys were doing here, it stops now," he said. "Or this is where we part ways."

Apparently, it angered the leader and started a fight with Negan in "The Walking Dead." He was pushed by the man into a stack of barbed wire, where he used the bat to smash the man's head to death. Fans may wonder how he got the name Lucille to call his baseball bat.

In the issue of "Here's Negan" in "The Walking Dead," Negan used to have an affair and despite his wife's knowledge about this, she kept it to herself. She was then diagnosed with cancer and Negan immediately cut off his affair with the other woman. He spent time with her until her last breath. Her name was Lucille.
