Tokyo Ghoul' Season 3 Release Date Delayed To 2018? Third Installment Facing More Problems Than Progress?
"Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 was expected to be released before the end of 2016. Obviously, that did not happen. Now that January and February have passed, many are still hopeful that the third installment of the Japanese fantasy manga series will still happen despite the delay. Now, a new report claims that the wait for "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 is still far from over.
According to Anime News Network, it appears that "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 will still push through despite previous reports that the horror series is facing a lot of problems than progress. Speaking with Viz Media, "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 Senior Director of Sales and Marketing, Kevin Hamric, seemingly hinted the positive fate of the much-awaited third installment.
"Nothing that's been recently released, but One-Punch Man is coming back on with season two. There's going to be another season of Tokyo Ghoul coming shortly," Hamric revealed. "Later in the year, those would be the bigger releases on the anime side." Unfortunately, the site noted that the "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 Senior Director of Sales and Marketing "misspoke or was misquoted" and actually meant that "My Hero Academia" is getting another season and not "Tokyo Ghoul."
Earlier reports revealed that "Tokyo Ghoul" had a studio switch, leaving Madhouse Entertainment for Pierrot Studio. With this huge change, it is quite understandable that the development of "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 faced delay. As if the studio switch is not enough setback, it was also reported that creators have "insufficient material" to make the highly-anticipated third installment.
"Tokyo Ghoul" season 2 has already faced a lot of backlash since many believed that the adaptation departed a lot from the storylines of the beloved manga. Frustrated fans discussed their thoughts in an online community forum, with some even suggesting that "Tokyo Ghoul" may have already been cancelled.
For now, it is safe to say that the wait for "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 is still not over. However, many are expecting that the third installment of the Japanese dark fantasy manga series may finally be released in 2018.
