"Blue Bloods" Season 8 spoilers reveal that Mayor Poole's resignation will pose several consequences for Frank (Tom Selleck). In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Kevin Wade explained that Mayor Poole's resignation will force Frank to take a deeper look into his own life and determine whether he still has what it takes to be in the position he is currently in.
This means that "Blue Bloods" Season 8 will see Frank struggle with his position, especially now that a new mayor will be filling in for Poole's shoes. Wade explained that the new mayor will be someone who is very different from Mayor Poole and fans should be expecting some tension between the two.
"I think because it's a new mayor who won't be a professional politician, he will perhaps be working more hand-in-hand in a political and community relations sense than he did in previous seasons," he said.
"Blue Bloods" Season 8 may also see Danny resolve his property issues after the fire, which may see him rebuild or buy a new house, according to Carter Matt. Aside from this, the eighth season should also see some progress in Jamie and Eddie's relationship.
The seventh season of the show finally gave viewers the progress in Jamie and Eddie's relationship that was sealed with a kiss. However, the progress was a very slow one, so "Blue Bloods" Season 8 will hopefully show more growth in their romance.
