'Alien: Covenant' Funko Pop Toy Features Major Oram SPOILERS, Billy Crudup Character Meets Xenomorph Too Soon? [PHOTO]
There is much excitement over the "Prometheus" sequel, which will finally hit theaters this year. After all, fans have been missing some major Xenomorph action for a long time. But is it possible that the new Funko Pop toys for "Alien: Covenant" have spoiled the fate of Billy Crudup's character? It looks like Christopher Oram will have an early encounter with the creature in the Ridley Scott film. Unfortunately, Oram might be just as lucky as John Hurt's character in the original "Alien" movie.
The trailer for "Alien: Covenant" shared on YouTube already teases on one very unfortunate character getting a close encounter with a facehugger. The identity of the character has been speculated for some time but now the Funko Pop toy release may have confirmed that it would be Christopher Oram who will get up close and personal with the newly hatched Xenomorph. Can Katherine Waterston's Daniels save Billy Crudup's first mate?
Funko shared the first images of the five new "Alien: Covenant" figurines that will be available starting June. Fans were undoubtedly drawn to the adorable little Xenomorph but the exclusive Hot Topic toy is the one that had people talking. For the most obvious reason, Christopher Oram's Funko Pop toy features a facehugger, obscuring the character's visage. Does this confirm that Billy Crudup will be the first victim in the Ridley Scott sequel?
This isn't the first time that a major character had a dangerous encounter with a facehugger. In "Alien", John Hurt's character Kane ended up discovering that the Xenomorph eggs come with very clingy hatchlings. Although the facehugger later withered away and the survivor seemed to be fine for a while, it also led to the famous chestbuster scene in the film. Could the same thing happen to Christopher Oram in "Alien: Covenant"?
The highly anticipated "Prometheus" sequel also stars Michael Fassbender, Danny McBride, Carmen Ejogo and James Franco. Find out if Billy Crudup will survive his encounter with the facehugger when "Alien: Covenant" premieres on May 19.
