'Limitless' Season 2 Renewal Still Possible? Plot For Sequel May Be Enough To Continue
The "Limitless" executive director clearly did not expect the cancellation of the CBS show as he already had some plans for "Limitless" Season 2. Craig Sweeny has previously released a concept for the much-awaited sequel and fans believe that it would have been enough for the comedy-drama television series to be renewed by the network or be picked up by major outlets.
"So, we’re going to make some changes to the show," Craig Sweeney told IGN exclusively about his idea for "Limitless" season 2. "We do find a way for it to be Brian taking the NZT working with Rebecca and Boyle and a couple new members on the team, solving crimes and having fun a week-to-week basis." With him talking about the new storyline for the sequel, it is safe to say that the executive producer was not ready for the show to be axed.
However, after finding out that "Limitless" was indeed dropped by CBS, Craig Sweeny repeatedly told fans that the "Limitless" season 2 is not happening. Despite his confirmation, fans are trying to hold on to the show as much as possible, even starting an online petition to prove that people are still interested in watching the sequel.
What made this hard for the fans to accept is the fact that the show didn't really have an ending. The television series that was based on the 2011 film of the same name ended with a cliffhanger which made everyone think that "Limitless" season is definitely a done deal. Unfortunately, that turned out to be just wishful thinking as there is still no plans for a sequel up until now despite the overwhelming result of the petition.
