Tom Hiddleston 2017: 'Thor: Ragnarok' Star Dissed By James Bond Producer, Loki Not "Tough Enough" For 007?
Tom Hiddleston has been the top choice to play the new James Bond after Daniel Craig retires from the iconic role. However, it looks like there is one very important person who doesn't share the fans' sentiments. "Spectre" producer Barbara Broccoli may have just shared her thoughts about the "Thor: Ragnarok" star and doesn't think Hiddleston is "tough enough" to be the new 007.
It's no secret that Daniel Craig is eager to leave James Bond behind. After all, the "Spectre" star has famously announced that he would "slash his wrists" than play 007 in one more movie. Craig's statement has immediately led to speculations on who should play the iconic spy for future movies. Not surprisingly, Tom Hiddleston has topped names like Aidan Turner, Tom Hardy and Idris Elba. But could the "Thor: Ragnarok" actor actually get called in to be the new 007?
According to PageSix, it is highly unlikely. The outlet has just reported that longtime James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli isn't impressed with Tom Hiddleston. A source had revealed that the "Spectre" producer thinks the "Kong: Skull Island" actor is "a bit too smug" and is simply "not tough enough" to be the new 007.
So who should portray James Bond now that Tom Hiddleston is seemingly out of the picture? It looks like the role will land right back in Daniel Craig's lap, as long as Barbara Broccoli plays her cards right. PageSix has reported that the "Spectre" producer has been wooing Craig to return as 007 by helping out in his off-Broadway production of "Othello". It is believed that the current Bond has changed his mind about retiring and is eager to go back to the role as soon as the script for the new film is completed.
Tom Hiddleston might not be playing James Bond anytime soon but that doesn't mean that the "Kong: Skull Island" star is completely out of work. He is set to appear as Loki in "Thor: Ragnarok", which premieres in November. We Got This Covered also reported that Hiddleston is expected to reprise the role in "Avengers: Infinity War", which is scheduled for release in 2018.
