The popular Japanese "One Piece" manga series has been in the limelight since its release in 1997 and it appears that the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy will soon come to an end. Previous reports claim that there's only about 20 - 30 percent remaining in the series' storyline. Eiichiro Oda's creation is one of the best-selling manga series in history.

Critics say that "One Piece" manga strengths include a combination of action, humor and heavy fare together although some say that Oda created a rich tale but did not focus too much on plot. According to CrunchyRoll, Eiichiro Oda said a few months ago that the series has reached about 65 percent completion. Thus, the Straw Hats adventures will be brought into a significant conclusion this year.

Additionally, the Whole Cake Island Arc or the Sanji Retrieval Arc is already in its half-way and there is about 20 -25 chapters remaining. That said, some fans estimated that it will take about five to eight years before "One Piece" manga concludes. However, the manga's ending will not be disclosed to anyone but to its editor Suguru Sugita.

Asked whether Eiichiro Oda will write another long manga story once the "One Piece" manga is finished, Sugita said that Oda might not be able to write a new one. He added that Oda has been in it for eighteen long years and won't probably last with long years in writing. "I think it's more of a question as to whether he'd be able to write another long serialization after that, realistically speaking," he told Gold Rush through the translation efforts of OnePiece Podcast.

Meanwhile, Eiichiro Oda also revealed that his all-time favorite "One Piece" manga villain is Buggy the Star Clown (Shigeru Chiba). He went on to say that he also like Monkey D. Luffy (Mayumi Tanaka) but he likes Gaimon Ohira Toru) more.
