'Criminal Minds' Season 13 Renewal Still Possible, CBS Not Ready To Give Up On Show

“Criminal Minds” was nowhere to be found in CBS renewal list last year. While many thought that the show was axed at the time, the company was just actually working out contract details with co-producer ABC Studios. Obviously, everything went well and the show was back on air for the 12th season. Will “Criminal Minds” season 13 also have the same luck?

After CBS revealed their Spring lineup, "Criminal Minds" was nowhere in sight, leaving fans worried and disappointed. Being one of the television broadcasting company's long-running series, many were not thrilled that it was not considered. However, a new report suggests that it may not be the end of the road for the crime flick just yet.

“Criminal Minds” seemingly lost its spark when big star Thomas Gibson (Aaron Hotchner) was fired in the police procedural crime drama television series in season 12. Fans were clearly unhappy with the decision that some went as far as boycotting the show that eventually made the ratings drop and the hype fizzle.

As if that wasn’t enough bad news, rumors were swirling that another big star of the show, Matthew Gray Gubler (Spencer Reid), may also be making his exit after “Criminal Minds” season 12. That thought may have totally pushed fans off the edge that caused the ratings to drop tremendously, to the point that it has reached its all time low.

Just when the bad news for the show keep on stacking, “Criminal Minds” finally got its break. According to Deadline, CBS is negotiating with ABC Studios to pick “Criminal Minds” Season 13 up. While the fate of the new installment is still uncertain, it’s definitely a nice feeling for the fans to know that the company is still looking after the show’s future.
