Kate Middleton Opens up About Motherhood Challenges & Her Own Mental Health Issues
During a maternal mental health speech on March 23 in London, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge opens up about her motherhood experience as well as the tribulations she has had. This includes the mental health challenges she faced as an outcome of the trials she has experienced. Motherhood is indeed a challenge but a wonderful experience too and this applies to every mother, whether she is a commoner or a Duchess. This means that even the noble people are not exempted with these kinds of challenges.
Kate Middleton, 35 and a mother of two said that there are no rules in parenting but all parents should do everything they can to take care of the entire family. However, it can also result to a lack of confidence and lack of knowledge in spite of having the most support at home. For her, motherhood is rewarding and a great experience but there are times that she is being tested. She went on to say that she also grapples with mental health issues not just because of motherhood and postpartum depression.
"Sadly, for some mothers, this experience can be made so much harder due to challenges with our very mental health," she said. According to the Huffington Post, Kate Middleton reminded mothers that the experience can be overwhelming but it is surely filled with joy and love. The Duchess is reportedly having relationship challenges with her husband Prince William, who has been spotted partying with his ex-girlfriends and popular models.
Kate Middleton added that it's fine when mothers feel it difficult to deal with and asking help from friends and family should not be considered as a weakness. As Glamour points out, the woman who suffers the most is the woman who is unheard and the Duchess might be implying that mothers should seek help if needed.
