"Hawaii Five-0" Season 7 cast news raises doubts over Alex O'Loughlin's status on the CBS drama. The show was recently included on the network's list of renewed shows alongside "Blue Bloods," "Madam Secretary," "MacGyver" and 13 other shows, states The Hollywood Reporter.
Many fans were rejoicing over the show's renewal for "H50" Season 8, but this also raised concerns among viewers. As most fans can recall, Alex O'Loughlin previously told TVLine that he has plans to leave the show after Season 8.
During the said interview, O'Loughlin explained that he is thankful for his role on "Hawaii Five-0" Season 7; however, he also admitted that it was hard to enact the stunts associated with his character. According to O'Loughlin, he is still trying to figure out how much longer he can stay on the show.
Showrunner Peter Lenkov told TVGuide.com that despite O'Loughlin's comments about his exit plan, "Hawaii Five-0" will continue with or without his character. This statement comes despite the fact that O'Loughlin plays the lead role in the series as Steve McGarrett and many fans are expressing worries that the show may no longer be as successful without its lead character.
Lenkov shared that the decision to stay or leave "Hawaii Five-0" depends upon O'Loughlin. However, he and the rest of the cast and crew will "keep going" no matter what O'Loughlin chooses in the end.
