'Yuri!!! On Ice' Season 2 Might Be Released in October 2017; Victor Desires to Compete Again While Coaching Yuri
Creator Mitsuro Kubo remains silent about the Japanese sports anime series "Yuri!!! On Ice" season 2 release date, but one of the members of the creative team revealed that it's just around the corner. The popular anime series reportedly held a surprise fans day and many cosplayers joined the event. The unique story of the figure skating-inspired anime series has apparently captured the hearts of the audiences, which leads the showrunners to continue the story of Victor Nikiforov and Yuri Katsukiv.
"Yuri!!! On Ice" season 1 episode finale was aired in December 2016 and since then, fans have been wondering when would be the official announcement of season 2's release date. When Yuri suffered defeat in the Grand Prix Finals as well as other figure-skating competition losses, he decided to stop playing temporarily. He went to college before going back to his hometown and visited his old friend Yuko at an ice rink. There, he imitated Russian figure skater Victor Nikiforov's advanced skating routine.
Having been secretly recorded, Yuri's footage imitating Victor's figure skating routine was uploaded on the internet and caught the latter's attention. Victor then made a trip to Kyushu offering Yuri for training and coaching to develop and revive his figure-skating career. With Victor's coaching, Yuri hopes to succeed in the Grand Prix series, something that fans have been looking forward to see in "Yuri!!! On Ice" season 2. Reports also say that Victor desires to go back to competing again while training Yuri at the same time.
As Droid Report points out, with Victor wanting to compete again and Yuri's goal to win the Grand Prix series, fans should look forward to an exciting "Yuri!!! On Ice" season 2. The first season premiered in October 2016 and according to a report, it is highly possible that season 2 will be released sometime in October this year. Nonetheless, fans can content themselves for now with the thought of Yuri and Victor's success in the world of figure-skating.
