'The Walking Dead': Negan's Wrath Will Last For 20 Years?

People will definitely have a hard time thinking when asked if what do they see themselves doing in 20 years time, but Scott M. Gimple knows exactly what he'll be doing by then. The producer shared that he would want to push "The Walking Dead" series' lifespan to at least 2030.

Just like everyone else, Scott M. Gimple, is not ready for the show to end just yet. "The Walking Dead" producer would love to stretch the hit horror drama television series' life for as long as he can, to the point of reaching 20 years on air! If this is true, then this is definitely a dream come true for the "TWD" fans.

“We are trying to do twenty years. The comic has certainly done it, and I look forward to every issue," he said. “The Simpsons has been on 26, 27 years, so that’s a challenge — so OK, challenge accepted. Done.” Since "The Walking Dead" comic book series has 165 comics right now, the popular show definitely has a lot of stories to explore that would certainly make the producer's plan possible. Besides the comics, the TV adaptation also add their own twist to the show that could expand to more angles to the already interesting storyline.

“We try to reinvent the show every eight episodes. We have this story that is a fidelity to the comic book, but we’re also exploring original stuff, and those things help us go on every year," "The Walking Dead" producer noted. “We want to try do it better, do things we haven’t done, take risks. It’s scary as hell, but as long as we keep doing that the show can go on and on.”

Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is one character that fans love to hate. While his wrath brought a lot of tears and heartaches to the TWD fandom, his existence gave so much depth to the story. Although many would want to to kill the character themselves, most fans secretly want him to stay as long as possible to add even more spice to "The Walking Dead" series.
