The L.A. gala made the event enjoyable for the A-list guests who attended the birthday bash. The event was organized at Red Studios in Los Angeles. The birthday celebration was similar to what award ceremonies have to offer.

Wonder also chose singing the veteran pop star's1973 song "Daniel" While Gaga also performed on her 2011 single "Born This Way." Prince Harry appeared via a video footage. He also made the singing sensation feel special by wearing star sunglasses, which is considered as a signature style of John's '70s and '80s looks.

E-News found that Prince Harry pretended to read a magazine during his video appearance. He read the July 2016 edition of gay magazine Attitude. The issue featured the prince's brother, Prince William, on its cover page. During the Elton John birthday celebration, a tribute was paid to the veteran pop star's songwriting partnership with Bernie Taupin to raise funds for both the AIDS Foundation founded by himself as well as the UCLA Hammer Museum.
