Selena Gomez News: Singer Laughs Off Justin Bieber-The Weeknd Connection
As it turns out, the ex-boyfriend and current boyfriend of Selena Gomez have one thing in common. And her make-up artist quickly pointed out that fact when the opportunity presented itself.
Having completed a photo shoot earlier in the day, Selena Gomez and her make-up artist Hugo Vanngo took to his Instagram stories and gave a shout out to the singer's fans from all across the globe. Things became slightly awkward when Vanngo gave a shout out to Canada, which prompted the 24-year-old singer to cheer the country on.
"You know Selena loves Canadians," Vanngo blurted out of the blue. His witty comment elicited a reply from Selena Gomez, who simply said "alright, alright," with a little giggle. She also jokingly rolled her eyes before the clip was turned off, according to the Daily Mail. Vanngo's one-liner is in reference to Gomez's well-known beaus: singers Justin Bieber and The Weeknd, who both hail from Canada.
Selena Gomez famously dated the 23-year-old Canadian pop star on and off for six years before calling it quits for good sometime in 2015. In October that same year, the former Disney star was spotted kissing the singer-songwriter and record producer, officially igniting their relationship. Things became more and more serious as the relationship went on.
They have already traveled around the world together, having been in several countries such as Italy when Selena Gomez accompanied the crooner for his world tour. Just recently, the couple went on a romantic date at Ripley's Aquarium of Canada, which is located in The Weeknd's hometown of Toronto. He had posted several videos of his girlfriend looking at the giant fish tank, as well as a video of himself doing the same.
During their tour around the city, Selena Gomez and The Weeknd watched a movie and dined at a Japanese restaurant called Blowfish. A source said that they had made reservations for a 7 p.m. dinner at a private booth, ordering a bit of food and ordered two of the restaurant's signature cocktails, according to E! Online.
