Adele News & Updates: Another Wedding Proposal, Singer Slams Security In Sold Out Australia Tour
Just like in her previous concerts, Adele invited members from the audience on stage during her concert on Sunday. And one of them ended up proposing to his partner.
Audience members Chris and Wade were called onto the stage by the singer after she had seen the former crying while she sang her hit song "Hello." Wade then shocked the audience at the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia when he got down on one knee so he could propose to Chris, who ended up saying yes, drawing a rapturous applause from the crowd. Adele admits that she had no idea that the proposal was going to happen. "That wasn't planned," she said.
Adele invited the audience members as part of a consolation prize for those who did not receive signed letters from the singer, who forgot to place some of them in several seats in the stadium. The proposal is just one of many proposals that also happened to several of her concerts in the past, especially in the year 2016, according to E! Online.
Two Swedish men got engaged during her concert in Denmark, where Adele even joked about volunteering to be the couple's surrogate. "I'd love to have a baby with someone Swedish," she quipped.
A man and a woman also got engaged during her London concert two months prior. And during her concert in Belfast, Northern Ireland, she persuaded a female audience member to repeat her proposal to her boyfriend, who initially gave an ambiguous answer before being prodded by Adele to say yes.
Also during the same concert in Melbourne, Adele shouted towards a security guard off camera after she saw him attempting to get audience members to remain seated, according to The Sun. The singer stopped her concert mid-way to tell the guard, "If you don't like dancing, don't come to a f***ing music show." She also gave a warning to the security guard if she sees another audience member being told to sit down.
