'Yuri On Ice' Season 2 News & Update: Yuri Katsuki's Medal In Episode 12 May Mean Sequel Is Happening Soon
Although already expected, fans still can't get over the result in "Yuri On Ice" Season 1 Episode 12. Viewers were hooked with Yuri's amazing figure skating skills and his chemistry with Victor Nikiforov, Yuri's ultimate idol and coach. With their tandem, Yuri should bag the gold medal without a sweat. But unlike the other animated series, the show's protagonist had to experience defeat.
Yuri Katsuki's figure skating competition show's song in "Yuri On Ice" Season 1 Episode 12 was called "Eros." It expresses love, eroticism, and sexuality. While Yuri initially chose "Agape" to be his piece, "Eros" pushed him out of his comfort zone that revealed his depth as a figure skater.
Multiple times Victor Nikiforov asked Yuri Katsuki if he's ever been in love, ever at all with anyone. Yuri denies and basically comes across as an awkward 23-year-old virgin. Yuri definitely didn't have time for love when the only love he appears to have ever known is for figure skating and for Victor.
Yuri Katsuki struggles as his competitor Yuri Plisetsky (better known as Yurio) begins to find his inspiration for "Agape" through his relationship with his grandfather. Yuri, on the other hand, tries to become desirable like the pork bowl that everyone loves but it's just not enough. Viewers already figured out that Yuri will only bag the silver medal in the season's finale.
Now proven to be true, many believed that his purpose is not yet done and may finally take the gold in the highly-wanted "Yuri On Ice" Season 2. Although the show's creator Mitsuro Kubo already showed interest in making the highly-anticipated sequel, revealing that she has a lot of plans for next year, "including the wish to create a sequel," there is still no word on the "Yuri On Ice" Season 2 release date.
