‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ Latest News & Update: Luke Skywalker’s First Words Revealed
A screening of "Star Wars: Episode VIII" were held recently and some of the lucky ones who got to see it spilled some exciting teasers for fans. For one, the latest teaser for the highly-anticipated film revealed the first words by Mark Hamill, who portrays Luke Skywalker.
Disney held its shareholders' meeting on March 8 in Burbank, California, where a selected few were given a chance to see the first teaser for "Star Wars: Episode VIII." One of the lucky, Daniel Miller from the LA Times, was kind enough to share bits of information from the trailer. While most of them were quite predictable - the appearance of Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew), Finn (John Boyega) and Princess Leia - Luke Skywalker's (Mark Hamill) first words stood out the most, Screenrant reported.
LA Times Daniel Miller posted to Twitter several teasers for "Star Wars: Episode VIII" including Luke Skywalker's first words: "Who are you?" Apparently, this question is directed to Rey (Daisy Ridley), who was seen on Ahch-To facing Luke at the last part of "The Force Awakens." When he was about to speak, the scene was cut-off and the credits started rolling. With Miller's revelation, one can conclude that Luke may not be Rey's dad or master after all. Miller added that Rey handed Luke a lightsaber.
The latest teaser for "Star Wars: Episode VIII" also showed Finn wearing a First Order uniform, prompting many to think that he may have gone undercover in the First Order's mother ship, NME added. Meanwhile, Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) will return in "The Last Jedi" according to film producer Kathleen Kennedy. Unlike in the previous installments, she'll be one of the key characters in the upcoming film.
"Star Wars: Episode VIII" is slated to hit the theaters on December 15, 2017. Stay tuned to get the latest updates on the hottest movies this year!
