‘Now You See Me 3’ Latest News & Update: Benedict Cumberbatch To Appear In Next Sequel As Isla Fisher Leaves
"Now You See Me 3" starts the ball rolling, giving out casting update and production news to fans. Making rounds on the Internet right now is a speculation that Benedict Cumberbatch is going to make a guest appearance in the Four Horsemen's third elaborate pilferage.
"Now You See Me 3" was in its early stages of production before the second installment hit the big screen according to Variety. Plans for the third installment were discussed after the production for "Now You See Me 2" wrapped up. Initial details were announced during the company's quarterly conference call with analysts regarding Lionsgate earnings.
"Now You See Me 3" is part of Lionsgate grand plan to focus on franchises. CEO Jon Feltheimer revealed that Lionsgate has been developing "Now You See Me 3" a year before the second installment hit the theaters. It was then confirmed that Isla Fisher is officially out of the franchise, being replaced by Lizzy Caplan in the succeeding installments. However, another person is being rumored to appear in the third title. "Dr. Strange" star Benedict Cumberbatch is said to make a guest appearance.
However, the rumors failed to note if the "Sherlock" star will play as a secret ally or a conniving foe in the third installment. However, it should be noted that Lionsgate hasn't confirmed Benedict Cumberbatch's casting for "Now You See Me 3." All of these remains as speculations until an official statement is given by the production team.
While Isla Fisher is confirmed to leave the franchise, the other cast members will reprise their roles along with director Jon M. Chu. "Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising" star Dave Franco, "Justice League" actor Jesse Eisenberg and the "Hunger Games" star Woody Harrelson will all return for the third installment. The script will be penned by rising star writers Neil Widener and Gavin James according to Deadline. These two previously wrote the script for "San Andreas 2." "Now You See Me 3" is expected to hit the theaters sometime in 2019.
