'Star Wars Rebels' Season 3 Episode 20 Predictions Spoilers: Darth Maul Possibly Killed By Obi-Wan Kenobi In 'Twin Suns'
The highly anticipated rematch between Darth Maul and Obi-Wan Kenobi is just around the corner, and it looks like the duel in "Star Wars Rebels" Season 3 Episode 20 could end badly for one of them. There is little doubt that Maul will be out to kill Obi-Wan after his painful defeat in "The Phantom Menace" but will he succeed? Could "Twin Suns" feature the death of the former Sith Lord?
Fans have been expecting to see the rematch between Darth Maul and Obi-Wan Kenobi since the release of the awesome "Star Wars Rebels" Season 3 midseason premiere trailer (via YouTube). Although the fight was initially expected to take place in the season's two-part finale, the synopsis for "Star Wars Rebels" Season 3 Episode 20 confirmed that it will happen much sooner. But could this also mean that the death of Maul will be featured in "Twin Suns"?
The Zap2It description for "Star Wars Rebels" Season 3 Episode 20 reveals that Ezra will head to Tatooine against Hera and Kanan's advices. Fans immediately speculated that this will mean that Obi-Wan Kenobi will make an appearance, since the Jedi already lives in the desert planet. But will Obi-Wan ultimately bury Darth Maul in Luke Skywalker's home planet in "Twin Suns"? There is a possibility that the animated series will pay homage to an old comic book that featured the death of Maul at the hand of the old Jedi.
According to io9, the rematch betwen Darth Maul and Obi-Wan Kenobi has already been featured in the "Star Wars" comic book story "Old Wounds". Although Maul and Obi-Wan had a close fight that almost resulted in the defeat of the Jedi, Luke Skywalker's uncle Owen Lars had stepped in to shoot the former Sith Lord in the head. There is a possibility that Owen will not make an appearance in "Twin Suns" but Tatooine will still end up being Maul's final resting place. "Star Wars Rebels" Season 3 Episode 20 will air on Disney XD on March 18.
