The Brit Awards 2016 Nominations: Adele Tops The List, Along With Years & Years and James Bay
The nominations of the current year's Brit awards are revealed and overloaded with some of the big names of the British music industry, starting with Adele topping the list, along with Year & Year and James Bay, followed by other artists like Jess Glynne, Sam Smith and Little Mix, all hoping to make it big at the award ceremony.
The Brit Awards ceremony is scheduled to be held on Feb. 24 at London's O2 Arena. Ant and Dec are making a comeback to host the ceremony as their work was much appreciated during their stint in the previous year's award show.
According to the report of Huffington Post, Adele has managed to feature in most of the nominations, gathering four of them in her name. New artists like Years & Years and James Bay also have their hands full, matching Adele with four nominations, and the others following are Jess Glynne and Calvin Harris, who have their hands on three of the nominations.
It was reported earlier that Adele is to be doing the opening act. But two artists, Justin Bieber and Coldplay, have been reported to be joining Adele as performers at the U.K.'s biggest music night. Following the lineup is an act to be prepared by Little Mix and The Weekend, offering a tribute to the three-time Brit Award winner David Bowie, to make the evening all the more fun and entertaining.
Meanwhile, Jack Garratt has been confirmed to be the winner of this year's Critics' Choice Award. Previous winners of this award are names like Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding and Jessie J.
As per The Guardian, Adele has been a major name at the show, owing to the success of her comeback album that spread wonders around. The sales of this album had been huge, selling more than 2.4 million copies in the U.K. to date.
Adele is said to be nominated for the following four major categories: the British Female Solo Artist category, the MasterCard British Album of the year, British Single and the British Artist Video of the year. For the last two categories, the singer has been nominated for the hit number "Hello," which marked her comeback on a favourable note.
