Meghan Trainor Shoots Down Dating Rumors, Wraps Up New Album
Meghan Trainor enters the new year still single but so ready for a new album release. Even without a release date, the singer said she cannot wait for her fans to hear her songs.
Speaking with E! News exclusively, Trainor shared that she still does not have a boyfriend. The singer, however, is not dwelling on this. She shared that she had been busy wrapping up her upcoming album, which is titled "Thank You." While the formal release date of the album is yet to be announced, she said her team is already doing the "final mixes."
She added that she felt excited to wrap up the album because, at least, she can let her fans listen to the songs she worked hard on. "[It's] amazing to finally wrap it up," she said. "It kills you to hold these songs from the world, it really does. Especially, one of my songs, it's called "Thank You," which the album is called, Thank You, and it's a song to my fans. I want them to hear it now but I have to wait."
There were speculations that Trainor could be dating DeAndre Jordan, but the singer was quick to shot down all the rumors. She told ET's Carly Steel that they are just good friends--an "awesome" friend, but still just a friend.
Last December, she already told Fuse TV that fans can expect the new album to be "very new and different." Even though the album is going to be world's apart from her first album, "Title," she said fans can expect the album to sound like her. She said she really "got a lot to say."
Her debut album "Title" featured chart-topping songs like "All About the Bass," "Dear Future Husband," "Like I'm Gonna Lose You" and "Lips are Movin." All of these songs made it to Top 20. It comes as no surprise that Trainor's debut album was named "Best Album" at the 2016 People's Choice Awards. It remains to be seen if the upcoming album will do just as well.
