Eva Mendes Interned for Ryan Gosling’s Film ‘Lost River’
Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are a team on and off set. The actor revealed during a Q&A panel in NYC on Friday, April 10, that his girlfriend worked as an intern on his latest film Lost River.
"She was around when I was writing it and she was very helpful in many aspects of the process," Gosling, 34, said at the Angelika Film Center, via the Daily Express as reported by US weekly. "She interned with the costume department, and with the production design team and she was also acting in it, so she wore a lot of hats on the film."
The role suits Mendes, who has an eye for fashion. The actress, 41, recently launched her own clothing line with New York & Co called Eva by Eva Mendes. "I think one of the great things about being an actress nowadays is we can wear so many hats," Mendes told Associated Press in March 2013, sounding just like her longtime love. "If you're creative in one area it usually seeps into another, like my home. I feel like my home is a set in a way - a lived-in set. I love to production design my own home."
Working together is nothing new for Gosling and Mendes. The couple, who welcomed daughter Esmeralda in September 2014, fell in love while filming 2012's The Place Beyond the Pines.
Lost River is Gosling's directorial debut, and stars Mendes, Christina Hendricks, Iain De Caestecker, Saoirse Ronan, and Matt Smith. Written by the Notebook star, it centers on a single mother that gets thrown into the underworld as her son finds a mysterious underwater town.
