Come next fall and Siri would have a new friend, Cortana. 'Einstein', the branch responsible for developing artificial intelligence at Microsoft has been reported as saying that Cortana has been named after a central character in the game 'Halo' is all set to rock the floor next fall.

It has also been remarked that Cortana works similar to Siri as a personal assistant by making notes, searching for traffic conditions and also setting reminders on the Microsoft interface. Furthermore, it has been promised that contradictory to Siri, Cortana would be seen on the desktops soon and would act as a standalone app for iOS and Android. Besides, it is expected that this would enhance the release process of the next version of the Windows, Windows 10.

All these moves have indicated that Microsoft has been trying to dominate the market with its two mobile operating systems. Though, the question that still lingers on is whether Cortana would be able to stand up to Siri in all respects or will there be any drawbacks of the same keeping in mind its previous attempts in the same field (Clippy, Microsoft Bob) which failed to impress the  consumers.

It has also been indicated that unlike Google Now which makes few too many conclusions about the search box, Cortana would be able to understand and interpret emails. Furthermore, it has also been reported by Michael Muchmore in the PC Magazine that this new OS would be like a open book storing all the users preferences as in a notebook and save the same in the consumers' device.

Furthermore, Satya Nadella has been reported as remarking that unlike earlier this time Cortana  would be more than just a digital accessory and sufficient opportunity shall be provided to it to integrate naturally into the market.
