Zootopia, the next computer-animated comedy-adventure feature scheduled to be released by Walt Disney Animation Studios following the hugely successful Frozen, has been renamed Zootropolis for its UK screening according to Screen Daily. "In the UK we decided to change the US title (Zootopia) to Zootropolis to merely allow the film to have a unique title that works for UK audiences," a Disney spokesman reportedly said. Also, it was gathered that the film which will show in US cinemas on March 4, 2016, will receive its UK theatrical release on March 25, 2016.

Directed by Byron Howard and Rich Moore and co-directed with Jared Bush who wrote the script, Zootopia is described by Empire Online "as a buddy-comedy-meets-conspiracy-thriller set in a world entirely populated by animals."

Also, director Howard previously said during Disney's D23 event back in 2013 that: "Usually in animal movies, people just make them all human and give them human abilities. But we wanted to bring the animal abilities into the movie. In the same way we pushed human animation in Tangled, we want to show an animal movie the way no one has seen before. Animals in our world are beautiful and amazing and we wanted to capture that and tie it to what we are as humans."

The film is set to take place in the animal city of "Zootopia," where the optimistic new police officer Judy Hopps discovers that being the first rabbit on a force of big, tough animals isn't so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde, to solve the mystery. Nick is on the run when he's framed for a crime he didn't commit. Judy while pursuing him also becomes a target of a conspiracy. Forced to team up, they discover even natural enemies can become best friends.
