Carrie Underwood Gives Birth to a Baby Boy!
The American Idol alum recently gave birth to a bouncing baby boy last Feb 27. The couple, Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher, named the baby Isaiah Michael Fisher. This is the first child for the 31-year-old and her hockey player husband, Mike Fisher.
"Tiny hands and tiny feet...God has blessed us with an amazing gift!" Carrie shared on Instagram along with this precious little hand pic. "Isaiah Michael Fisher - born on February 27. Welcome to the world, sweet angel!," according to a report by US weekly.
Underwood first announced she was expecting last September via another adorable Instagram photo, this one of herself with her two dogs, Ace and Penny, who were proudly dressed in "I'm going to be a big brother" and "I'm going to be a big sister" tees.
The star revealed her baby's gender (sort of, anyway) while hosting the Country Music Awards alongside Brad Paisley, who playfully motioned toward her burgeoning midsection and suggested, "We should name him Garth!" Though it was probably planned for him to "accidentally" let the cat out of the bag, it was charming just the same. She later explained that she and hubby Fisher asked their doctor to write the baby's gender and put it in an envelope, which they opened during a romantic dinner.
Though she admitted during an appearance on The View that she is concerned about "just being responsible for a tiny human," overall she has inarguably taken the changes and challenges of pregnancy in stride.
On Jan. 22, just a few weeks before giving birth, she tweeted a photo of herself putting her baby bump to good use. "Pregnancy perk: using my belly as a tabletop for my snacks! Nom nom nom..." she declared. We can only hope her new son is as enamored with his mother as we are.
