Season 2 of Deadbeat, the supernatural comedy series created by Cody Heller and Brett Konner that airs exclusively on the Hulu Plus subscription service platform, will be released, all 13 episodes of it, on April 20.

The show follows the adventures of medium-for-hire Kevin Pacalioglu, a lazy slacker and a stoner who attempts to solve various unresolved issues for ghosts so that they can move on to their final resting place, occasionally with the help of Roofie, his best friend and drug dealer. It stars Tyler Labine as Kevin and Brandon T. Jackson as Roofie. Cast in recurring roles are Cat Deeley as Camomile White, a famous medium who actually lacks the ability to communicate with ghost s and who usually tries to get one over Kevin, and Lucy DeVito as Camomile's assistant and lackey Sue.

Deadbeat is produced by Lionsgate Television in association with Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment and Dakota Pictures. It is executive produced by Dan Lagana, Cody Heller, Brett Konner and Plan B's Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner. Co-executive producers are Sarah Esberg, Don Poquette, and David Baldy.

According to Deadline, James Franco, Danny DeVito, Fred Armisen, Michael Ian Black, Gilbert Gottfried, Jim Norton, Zach Levi and Finn Wittrock are set as guest stars for Season 2 of Deadbeat.

The first season, comprised of 10 episodes, of Deadbeat was released on Hulu on April 9 last year. The show was renewed for a second season on April 30. Along with, Deadbeat, the Internet channel also renewed The Awesomes, Moone Boy, East Los High, and Behind the Mask.

Labine, 36, the Canadian actor who plays the Deadbeat Kevin character, has managed to establish a cult following for his roles in the television series Breaker High, Invasion, and Reaper as well as in the film Tucker & Dale vs Evil. Regarding his portrayal of Kevin, Ben Travers in his review for Indie Wire wrote: "Labine, who's appeared on a number of failed TV shows leading up to this including Mad Love and Animal Practice, is the actor of note, though proving himself a surprisingly capable leading man. While I'm an easy target for a bum with a heart of gold, Labine embodies Kevin with just enough urgency and passion to make him an identifiable pothead instead of a stereotypical one. It's far from a standout comedic performance, but the Tucker & Dale vs. Evil star could truly thrive here if he was given better material. Unfortunately, we're only given glimpses of what could be."
