‘Sleepy Hollow's’ Orlando Jones Joins Cast of the 'Devil and the Deep Blue Sea’
Orlando Jones, 46, of Sleepy Hollow and MadTV fame, joins the cast of Iron Ocean's upcoming production of the feature film titled The Devil in the Deep Blue Sea, which also stars Jessica Biel, Jason Sudeikis, Maisie Williams and Mary Steenburgen.
With Bill Purple directing from a script he co-wrote with Robbie Pickering, the film's story, set in New Orleans, as described in the plot outline, follows the architect Henry (Sudeikis), a grieving widower who recently lost his wife (Biel) in a car accident, as he finds refuge by helping a wisecracking young girl named Millie (Williams) fulfill her dream of building a raft and sailing across the Atlantic Ocean. Steenburgen will be playing the role of Henry's cold, aristocratic mother-in-law. Jones is cast as Cornelius Thibadeaux aka 'Dumbass,' described as an affable and loyal character, who will be helping Henry build the raft for Millie.
Biel will also produce the project with Michelle Purple under their Iron Ocean Productions banner, alongside C+ Pictures. Biel's husband Justin Timberlake is set to compose the movie's soundtrack and serve as music supervisor. The Devil in the Deep Blue Sea is expected to start shooting later this year.
In related news, Jones and his Drive-By Entertainment partner Noam Dromi, according to Variety, are also developing a project based on the true story of Ted Patrick, who is widely considered to be the "father of deprogramming." As gathered by the entertainment news site, the two will write the screenplay and will produce the project with Tracy Funches. Jones is expected to play the role of Patrick.
Jones will also next be seen in The Adventures of Beatle alongside Ever Carradine, Michele Hicks, Ivana Milicevic and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Jointly directed and jointly written by Katherine Brooks and Donna Robinson, the comedy film follows the story of the hit man Beatle (Hicks) who gets hired by the suicidal Athena (Carradine) to stage her own execution.
