‘The Catch’: ‘The Killing's’ Star Mireille Enos Cast in the Leading Role for ABC's Shondaland Drama Pilot

Mireille Enos, 39, has been cast as the lead heroine, Chicago forensic accountant Alice Martin, a woman who investigates fraud for a living, in the ABC pilot The Catch, a thriller developed for the small-screen by Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers and written by Jennifer Schuur based on the novel by Kate Atkinson. Rhimes, Beers and Schuur will executive produce the project along with JulieAnne Robinson who will also be directing the pilot. Helen Gregory and novelist Atkinson are co-executive producers.

According to the network's plot outline, the pilot will follow Alice as she is about to get married to her fiance, the con artist Kieran [yet to be cast]. So, "when the fiancé's expertly planned con collides with her perfectly constructed lies, they plunge into a dangerous game of cat and mouse." Enos character is further described in the casting call as "a feisty woman with a nervy spirit," "clean and a minimalist," and "a tough, competent woman who is run over by worry and exhaustion."

Enos is best known for her portrayal of homicide detective Sarah Linden in the AMC drama series The Killing for which she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, a Golden Award for Best Actress - Television Series Drama, and three Saturn Award for Best Actress on Television. She was a regular cast member of HBO's drama series Big Love where she played the roles of twin sisters JoDean and Kathy Marquart. She also garnered critical acclaim for her roles in such movies as World War Z, Gangster Squad, Devil's Knot, Sabotage, If I Stay, and Captive.

Enos will be joining Taxi Brooklyn star Jacky Ido, 37, who will be playing the role of Delgado, an FBI agent who is suspicious of Alice, in The Catch. Shooting will be set in Austin, Texas.
