Girl with a Tumor Wishes to Dance with Taylor Swift as a Final Wish
A little girl from Texas, Jalene Salinas, who was diagnosed with a tumor wanted to get the chance to dance with Taylor Swift with the singer's dance track off her "1989" album, "Shake it Off". This is part of her long bucket list.
Jalene first went to the hospital in April 2014 after complaining about headaches, but the doctor sent her home with Tylenol, according to USA Today. As the headaches worsened, her mom, Jennifer Arriaga, took her to Methodist Children's Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, where she was diagnosed with a PNET tumor.
In a report by People, Ariaga told the paper, "There's nothing else they can do for her. They told us anything that you want to do with her now or she wants to do, go ahead and do it."
Some of the activities in Jalene's bucket lists are: Make a snowman, see sand, experience school and a spa party with her sister, which were all crossed out now from the list. One of the only things she has left on her list is to dance to "Shake It Off" with Taylor Swift. Even Taye Diggs has gotten in on her plan!
The singer sent Jalene a package filled with memorabilia and a signed poster, but the family hopes to get Swift on Skype too.
The family's community in Texas has been tweeting using the hashtag #ShakeItOffJalene and tagging Swift to help grant Jalene's wish.
Arriaga has been taking to Facebook to share updates with friends and family on Jalene's progress.
"Let's just be happy, let's smile with her," Arriaga said. "And when the time comes when whatever happens, we'll have our time to mourn and to be sad, but right now let's just enjoy her."
