The newly engaged actress, Nikki Reed, has said that she loves her engagement ring "more than anything in the world".

Reed accompanied and supported her husband-to-be Ian Somerhalder as he was honored at the Noble Awards in L.A. on Friday, Feb. 27. The newly engaged couple gushed to Us Weekly and other reporters about their passions -- and about the actresses' gorgeous diamond engagement ring!

The Vampire Diaries actor is a tireless advocate for global issues, pet adoption, and much more. In 2010, he created the IS Foundation to educate and draw attention to environmental issues.

"Obviously it's incredible to be here together," Somerhalder, 36, said at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. "This town celebrates people who do things on screen whether it's acting, writing, directing, producing, what have you. What's unique and incredible about this space and time here is [it's] recognizing people about what they do off-screen."

The couple often connect with their fans about issues they feel deeply about via Twitter and Instagram. Some of the subjects the couple discusses are pet adoption, and are now parents to several horses, dogs, and cats since they began dating back in July.

According to the Twilight alum, she and her fiancé's conversations revolve around what they can do better, because whether or not they have the same passions, she thinks that it all stems around the idea that everything is connected. She also added that, "What's nurtured this long friendship that we've had is that we are passionate about similar things, whether it's animals or the environment or education or climate change. So we do wake up in the morning and talk about those things."
